Ken Means Carousel

“There is nothing else in the world that can touch so many and appeal to everyone as a carousel.” In 2005 Coos Art Museum provided a preview of the carousel Ken Means was creating. Since then Means has endeavored to bring his monumental project to life, creating all aspects of a traditional carousel. This extraordinary exhibition includes riding figures, decorative mirrors & panels, rounder boards, housing for the musical organ and sleighs & chariots for seating. Accompanying the project are drawings and tools used in its creation.
