The Coos Art Museum has been the cultural hub of Oregon’s scenic South Coast since 1950. Oregon’s 3rd oldest Art Museum is housed in the historic art deco former US Post Office in downtown Coos Bay. CAM invites visitors to tour exhibits, take art classes, hear lectures and participate in community events. CAM’s 530 Permanent Collection of Contemporary Art rotates on display throughout the year, but online visitors can also view it through our website.

The Coos Art Museum, Inc. is a 501-3 (c) not-for-profit corporation. 15 active members of CAM make up the volunteer Board of Directors, electing new officers each year. To help fulfill its mission, the Museum’s by-laws established a number of volunteer committees working in many areas including art education, acquisitions, development, exhibitions, membership, volunteers, etc.

The Executive Director manages the overall operation of the Coos Art Museum; it’s programs, collections and curates the numerous exhibitions. Artists and guest curators are able to submit proposals for exhibitions, which are reviewed and then selected by the Exhibitions Committee. For more information on portfolio reviews or proposal submissions, email info@coosartmuseum.org.

CAM exhibitions and programs are supported in part by a grant from the Oregon Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts; contributions from The Oregon Community FoundationUmpqua Bank, and the City of Coos Bay; membership dues, donations from members and the community-at-large.
