Leslie Kenneth Price: Garden Conversation

Juror of Expressions West 2016, Leslie Kenneth Price is known for abstract and elegant paintings inspired by nature, Zen Buddhism and jazz music. A professor at Humboldt State University for 30 years, Price received his MFA from Mills College in Oakland and his BFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. “My aim is to make a painting that is dynamic and meditative simultaneously, which is similar to my experience of the source material.”

Jesse Reno: Before Time Began

Inspired by primitive art, mythology, and process, self-taught Portland artist Jesse Reno creates large and compelling mixed media paintings. “We are more likely to move with feeling when we are not afraid….Over time creating images and ideas beyond our own imaginations. Something new and of ourselves. Something unexpected magical and original.”
