Working for over 1-year to conserve the Victor West Collection,
Ciara Van Velsor curated the exhibit on display in the Mabel Hansen
Gallery.

How the Collection used to be stored - negatives wrapped
in acidic paper, stored in metal boxes. Prints glued to a notebook
and along with many other items.
Digitized images of the negatives and prints are now stored
on archival CD-ROM's. Original negatives and prints are now stored
in protective sleeves within acid free storage cartons. The writings
and images of Victor West are now in a digital format - files in
a Museum industry standard database.

As a tribute to Victor West, his portrait along with an
Outstanding Citizen Award from the City of North Bend accompany
the exhibit.

22 images from the over 30,000 piece Collection are currently on display.

The Collection is available for research to historians, artists and anyone
who is interested in the Maritime history of Oregon's South Coast.
