Learning to Walk in My Own Shadow

Recent works by Eugene, Oregon artist Geoffrey McCormack will be on display. Though he earned his Master’s Degree in sculpture from San Jose State University, McCormack is possibly best known for his work in watercolor. “I’m a studio painter influenced by trompe l’oeil, abstraction and photo realism. Although I don’t adhere to all the cannons of either school, I feel at home with their ideals.” McCormack is the juror of “Expressions West 2019.” He will be presenting a free public discussion about “Expressions” and his own exhibition on Saturday April 20 at 1pm.

In the Uno E Richter Atrium Gallery: April 19 – June 29

Abstract Impressions

Vince Carl is a Rogue River, Oregon painter producing large abstract works. “My paintings develop through layering, utilizing acrylic paints, charcoal, gold leaf, acrylic mediums, pastel and collage, building thickness in the process. My innovative use of squeegees to apply the paint is a technique I have been working with for more than 25 years.”

In the Clare Wehrle Community Gallery: April 19 – June 29

High School Art Club

In 2018 the Museum instituted its High School Art Club, an afterschool program for students from Marshfield and North Bend High Schools. Recent works by club members will be on display.
