The annual High School art competition is underwritten by Southwestern Oregon Community College Foundation. It features current student works of art from Coastal high schools as well as high schools in Douglas, Josephine and Jackson counties.

Douglas Russell
Juror of Expressions West 2012, Douglas Russell is Director of the Fairbanks Gallery at Oregon State University in Corvallis and a working artist. He has been the Curator of the Fine Art Collection at Oregon State University for the last thirty-two years. During his long career Russell has had the opportunity to curate exhibitions from some of America’s most important modern and contemporary artists.

The CAM Biennial provides Oregon artists an opportunity to exhibit their artwork within an art museum setting without the extensive jurying process.

Ken Means – Carousel
Nationally known wood carver Ken Means of Coquille, Oregon has been working to complete his carousel project for many years. In 2005 he presented a display of its progress at the Museum which became one of our most popular exhibitions. In 2012 we are expecting its completion.

Printmakers on Paper
The exhibition featured a select number of fine art prints from the Permanent Collection in an exhibition curated by Pat Snyder. Examples of all printmaking processes are present in the exhibit as are works by internationally recognized artists such as Romare Bearden, Gabor Peterdi, Robert Rauschenberg, Larry Rivers, and James Rosenquist. Northwest artists included Glen Alps, Tom Hardy, Lyle Matoush, and Erik & Nelson Sandgren.
