IN MORE DETAIL

Coos Art Museum is incredibly excited and honored to once again be guests at Mahaffy Ranch for a Plein Air Paint Out on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration fee is $15. This year’s event proceeds will fund Coos Art Museum’s children’s art education scholarship program. Nestled amid the mountains along the Millicoma River, this 95+ acre ranch features a huge u-pick pumpkin patch, corn maze, farm animals, tractors, corn cannon and harvest store decorated with every color, shape and size pumpkin and gourd imaginable. It is located at 10362 Hwy 241, Coos Bay (~15 miles from Coos Art Museum towards Allegany). Artists of all ages and skill levels are welcome to enjoy this serene, picturesque setting and paint plein air!

Weather in October is unpredictable, but more than likely it will be cold and damp. A covered building is available should it rain. For safety and sanitation, please no pets or smoking. Bring your own sack lunch. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase at the Mahaffy Ranch harvest store. This year they will also have mini donuts and espresso. Young Life/Wyld Life will be having a fundraiser BBQ, so that is also a food option.

If you are unable to participate, but would still like to show your support, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the scholarship. Make check payable to Coos Art Museum and designate “SCHOLARSHIP” in the notes section of your check. Questions?
