Join Guild of Natural Science Illustrator, Marly Beyer at the Coos Art Museum on Saturday and Sunday, October 13 & 14, 10am to 5pm for Introduction to Scientific Illustration. This 2-day workshop will provide an introduction to traditional scientific illustration techniques. Students will learn how to accurately represent botanical and zoological specimens using graphite, pen and ink, and watercolor. Class time will cover the history and importance of scientific illustration, methods of collecting references, and demonstrations of different media. Students can have the opportunity to work in the field, gather their own reference material and will come away with an improved understanding of how to carefully render detailed natural specimens.
