Needle-Felt a Forest Hero! The Pileated Woodpecker

Ever wanted to learn to needle felt? In this class each participant will receive

their own complete bird making kit and we will go step by step through the needle-felting

process to make this forest hero. Our Woodpecker colors for this workshop are inspired by

Oregon’s largest woodpecker species: the Pileated Woodpecker! Their distinctive markings are

a wonderful reminder of the amazing nature we have protecting our forests from bark

beetles and wild-res. We will be working with some sharp tools such as scissors and felting

needles. In addition to the lovely bird, participants get to keep their felting needles at the end

of the class. Class taught by wildlife artist Suzanne Moulton.
