Join Guild of Natural Science Illustrator, Marly Beyer at the Coos Art Museum on Friday, October 12th from noon-5pm for Drawing a Textured Landscape. This 5-hour workshop will provide a unique and fresh perspective on drawing landscapes. Nature is full of depth and emotion. In this class, students will use different dry media to create layered and textured landscape drawings. Emphasis will be place on mark making and the use of space within a drawing to capture the movement and feeling of a natural environment. Even a simple scene can tell a story, and this course will focus on the way landscape drawing can evoke questions and emotions. Students will have the opportunity to cover technique in the classroom, as well as, in the field.

Important notes: Materials required for class are as follows: Drawing paper (18 x 24, 80#), graphite pencils, charcoal (vine and compressed), white conte crayon, chamois, drawing board, and a tortillion. Optional supplies: sumi ink, chalk pastels and pictures of landscapes they may want to use.
