The portfolio "The Myth of Creation" was the outcome of a collaborative project between three art institutions known for their creation of fine art prints.

Rutgers Center For Innovative Print & Paper (RCIPP) at Rutgers University in New Jersey

Artist Proof Studio (APS) in Johannesburg, South Africa

Crow’s Shadow Institute of the Arts (CSIA) on the Umatilla Reservation near Pendleton, Oregon

The works contained in the portfolio explore the universal theme of Creation through words and images. It celebrates a common bond between peoples of the world.

Curators from RCIPP at Rutgers University were conducting field workshops with San artists from the Kalahari Desert region in Botswana. Five of the San artists traveled with the RCIPP curators to APS in Johannesburg, South Africa to tell their Creation stories. The five San artists then created lithographic images based on their various myths. Simultaneously, five Native American artists, from different Tribal affiliations, were invited to come to CSIA on the Umatilla Reservation in Oregon to created prints based on their Creation stories. The combined works of these storytellers from the Kalahari Desert and the Columbia Plateau were first mounted at Rutgers University. The portfolio contains 10 images & 6 stories. The portfolio edition size is 50.

The portfolio is making its Art Museum debut while on exhibit in the Mabel Hansen Gallery at Coos Art Museum.
